Celery is a dieter’s choice because it is a
food that actually burns more
calories than it provides on consumption.
The effort that goes into digesting the tough
fibre of the celery burns off the calories.
Researchers have also concluded that, when
eaten, celery creates the natural
chemicals luteolin and diosmin, both of which fight
Alzheimer’s by blocking the inflammation
that causes the brain to start misfiring.
However, the research into the effects of celery
on Alzheimer’s is in its early stages, and everything has
been based on animal studies.
The studies are promising, but nothing conclusive
yet.
