Lithium fights Alzheimer’s

Posted by youngaga On August - 31 - 2007Comments Off

Welcome back!

Here is some life-changing information that we would like to share with you.  It was described in a publication that was sent to us.

Jonathan V. Wright, M.D. was recently awarded the Linus Pauling Award by his contemporaries, who call him the greatest genius in alternative medicine.  The award is the discipline’s highest honour for a lifetime of achievement in naturopathic medicine. Thousands of forward-thinking doctors have sought him out for advice and guidance in seeking natural therapies for health problems that have defied drugs and conventional treatments.

Alzheimer’s is NOT a death sentence and you do not have to lose your wits. Natural treatments do exist that block major Alzheimer’s pathways.

Scientists believe they have confirmed what they once thought impossible - that you can actually “re-grow” and regenerate your brain— at any age.

Lithium aspartate and orotate have been shown to block major pathways in recent studies!

Why have you not heard this before?

Probably because lithium aspartate and lithium orotate are minerals.

Which means they cannot be patented, so it is not in the financial interest of drug companies to promote them.

Lithium aspartate or lithium orotate— completely safe minerals you can pick up at any health food store for about 26 cents.

Most people think Lithium is for mental cases in strait-jackets. But that’s lithium carbonate, which is only available with a prescription and used to treat bipolar disorder. In fact, lithium is not a drug at all. It’s a mineral-part of the same family of minerals that includes sodium and potassium.

Discuss Dr Wright’s findings with your family doctor if you, or a member of your family, suffers from Alzheimer’s.

Carnosine - The Miracle Worker

Posted by youngaga On August - 30 - 2007Comments Off

Read this and act fast!

Recent research has added yet more successes to the list of properties of a little known substance - Carnosine. It was first discovered in 1900 in Russia but its incredible properties have only recently been recognised following several research projects in Russia, Japan, Australia, UK and USA. Scientists around the world are now looking to see what other tricks this innocent looking chemical has up its sleeve.

Ethos Endymion is the very best brand of L-Carnosine available anywhere in the world as backed by Professor Steven Charles Gallant and his years of research into L-Carnosine).

What is it?

Carnosine is a combination of two important amino acids, beta-alanine and L-histidine. It occurs naturally in the human body (mainly in muscle) and can also be found in many animals. Carnosine is easily broken down into beta-alanine and L-histidine, but the remarkable thing is that these two amino acids now work much more efficiently than they would have done if they hadn’t combined to form Carnosine in the first place! While still combined together as Carnosine it has the unique ability to rejuvenate cells i.e. to make old cells younger and extend their life-cycle. Carnosine is the only compound commercially available that possesses this very rare and unique ability.

What does it do?

There are numerous technical papers on Carnosine and its derivatives and they are too complex to discuss here. In simple language, Carnosine has the ability to change itself into numerous compounds that can each carry out or enhance many important body functions. These include, in no particular order:

a) Can bind to harmful metal compounds and inactivate them.

b) Turn the resultant carnosine/metal compound into useful antioxidants that in turn become anti-ulcer agents.

c) Stabilise and protect cell membranes, helping to protect the cells from harmful free radicals.

d) Protect healthy cells from radiation damage (certain cancer treatments).

e) Act as a neuro-transmitter - a chemical that helps messages jump from one nerve to another. This helps boost memory and fight dementia (Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease).

f) Allergy fighter.

g) Improve blood flow to brain.

h) Block activation of guanylate cyclase - an enzyme linked to asthma, migraine, septic shock and cancer.

i) Special carnosine derivatives can clear the build up of abnormal protein and sugar compounds in the eye - various forms of these can lead to cataracts, glaucoma and Macular Degeneration.

j) Acts as a catalyst to enhance the work of numerous other nutrients and compounds.

There is a special bonus offer being offered by an reputable source of an extra thirty percent (30%) of  L-Carnosine when you buy a 100 gram tub. As the suggested daily dose is one gram, you effectively get an extra 30 day supply at no cost. The bonus offer expires at midnight on August 31

Look and feel young again forever

What does this mean?

Carnosine’s unique ability to repair cells, protect them and increase the effectiveness of so many other compounds within the body means that its effects are numerous and in many cases remarkable. Clinical research has now confirmed that Carnosine (and its derivatives) show marked improvements in the following conditions:

1) Arthritis and bone health.

2) High blood pressure AND low blood pressure!

3) Regulates blood clotting and eases resultant conditions.

4) Ulcers.

5) Wounds and skin health.

6) Cancer.

7) Increased lifespan and anti-aging.

8) Cataracts and other eye disorders (using N-alpha-acetyl-Carnosine or NAC for short).

9) Muscular conditions.

10) Improve learning and special awareness (ADHD and autism).

11) Conditions linked to poor memory and confusion.

12) Increases the body’s own stem cell production. Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body and serve as a natural repair system.

The list goes on………

The work done by Carnosine as an antioxidant and cell protector has another most welcome effect. It speeds up cell replacement. This means that old, damaged cells are replaced by new, healthy cells. Skin and complexion are younger and fresher. Hair and nails improve their condition. Carnosine really is a super anti-ageing supplement.

And finally……

There are no known adverse side effects to taking Carnosine - even at very high doses (50g+).

There is a special bonus offer being offered by this source of an extra thirty percent (30%) of  L-Carnosine when you buy a 100 gram tub. As the suggested daily dose is one gram, you effectively get an extra 30 day supply at no cost.

The bonus offer expires at midnight on August 31

Pot Belly could indicate Heart Disease

Posted by youngaga On August - 29 - 2007Comments Off

Hello.

We would like to share some important observations by Jenny Hope, based on findings by researchers. There appears to be a link between a pot belly, regardless of whether you are overweight or not, and your risk of heart disease.

Researchers claim it is better to check your waist measurement than to get on the bathroom scales to keep heart disease in check.

Carrying even a small “pot belly” means a high risk of heart problems even when body weight is in the normal range, according to a study of almost 3,000 people.

It shows that three or four extra inches around the abdomen is the external sign of a build-up of fat in the arteries, and provides the clearest evidence yet of a direct relationship between additional inches on the waist and clogged arteries.

Those with the biggest waist measurements were twice as likely to have calcium deposits in the arteries, which form the plaque that hardens the arteries and increases the risk of heart attacks.

In those with the largest waists, there was triple the risk of build-up in the aorta — the body’s main artery.

The research, carried out at the University of Texas South-western Medical Center in Dallas, was published recently in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Many experts now want waist circumference or waist-to-hip ratio, which indicates levels of abdominal fat, adopted as a more accurate guide than body mass index. This index relates weight to height.

Fat packed around the abdomen is more dangerous than fat on the hips because it’s “metabolically active,” releasing more of the acids that raise heart disease risk. Dr. James de Lemos, director of the coronary care unit at the center, said middle-aged spread was a sign of increasing risk of heart problems.

Dr. de Lemos and his researchers examined data from the ongoing Dallas Heart Study involving 2,744 men and women with an average age of 45. Using CT scans, they found that the likelihood of there being calcium deposits in the arteries grew in direct proportion with the increase in waist-to-hip ratio.

Even when factors such as blood pressure, diabetes, age, high cholesterol levels and whether a person smoked were taken into account, the link remained strong.

As a rough guide to healthy waist circumference, doctors regard over 40 inches for a man and 35 for a woman as danger signs.

Hip-to-waist ratio can be worked out by measuring hips at the widest part of the hip bones, and the waist above the crest of the upper hip bones and below the navel.

Divide waist by hip measurement to get the ratio. A ratio equal to, or lower than, 0.7 for women and 0.9 for men is a sign of general good health.

We hope you found this information useful. For more information on heart health, visit

Raw Dark Chocolate

Posted by youngaga On August - 28 - 2007Comments Off

Hi!

Here are excerpts from Dr Kim’s newsletter on the benefits of eating raw dark chocolate.

Here are the key reasons why eating raw chocolate is good for your health:

*Raw chocolate is naturally rich in flavonoids, which are natural nutrients with antioxidant properties - the same nutrients that make berries, grapes, and green tea health-promoting foods.

* Flavonoids that are abundant in raw chocolate can protect your cells against damage by free radicals, which can help to prevent premature aging.

*Flavonoids in raw chocolate are good for your heart, as they can help to prevent stickiness of platelets, which are cells that play an important role in blood clotting.

*Flavonoids can help your body produce nitric oxide, a compound that promotes a healthy cardiovascular system.

The health benefits of chocolate are mainly due to its rich flavonoid content. And the more chocolate is processed, the fewer flavonoids it retains. Fewer flavonoids translates to less antioxidant content and less potential health benefits.

If you want to eat chocolate to optimally support your health, your best choice is raw, organic chocolate that has no added ingredients like sugar, milk, and oil. Your next best choice is dark chocolate with 70 percent or more cocoa content, but this ranks a distant second to raw chocolate, since conventional dark chocolate bars are exposed to significant heat and processing. Most varieties of milk chocolate have only about 25 to 50 percent the flavonoid content of dark chocolate, and white chocolate has no flavonoids.

The antioxidant content of different foods is measured by what’s called the ORAC test; the higher the ORAC value for a food, the greater its antioxidant content. Here is a list of ORAC values for foods that are known to be rich in antioxidants, as calculated by the United States Department of Agriculture and the Journal of the American Chemical Society:

Dark chocolate 13,120

Milk chocolate 6,740

Prunes 5,770

Raisins 2,830

Blueberries 2,400

Blackberries 2,036

Kale 1,770

Strawberries 1,540

Spinach 1,260

Raspberries 1,220

Brussels sprouts 980

Plums 949

Alfalfa sprouts 930

Broccoli 890

Beyond its value as a food that is super-rich in antioxidants, raw chocolate is also abundant in the following health-promoting nutrients:

*Serotonin (3 mg per 100 g) and tyramine (2 mg per 100 g) - both are capable of creating a mild calming effect.

*Copper (0.8 mg per 100 g) - needed for energy production, proper nerve signalling, optimal bone health, and formation of healthy connective tissue in your heart and blood vessels.

*Phenylethylamine (PEA) - can help to promote mental alertness and focus. It is also thought to combat feelings of depression, and is released within your brain when you are in love.

*Magnesium (131 mg per 100 g) - is needed for healthy bones and teeth, energy production, and optimal heart, nerve, and muscle health. Magnesium levels tend to be low during menstruation, which may explain why some women tend to crave chocolate on a periodic basis.

To keep raw chocolate as fresh as possible, it is best to store it in your refrigerator or a cool, dry place.

Thank you, Dr Kim.

Living With Arthritis Pain

Posted by youngaga On August - 27 - 2007Comments Off

Welcome to our Blog!

If you suffer from arthritis, the pain can interfere with your daily activities. Are you aware of what triggers the pain?

The first step in managing arthritic pain, whether it’s acute or chronic, lies in recognizing the triggers and taking the right measures to nullify them.

Here are some tips for stopping the pain before it starts:

    * Don’t overdo it. There may be a tide of household drudgery to get through, but it does not have to be laa done at once. Pace yourself. Stop if  you start to feel pain.

    * Balance is the key. In the middle of the work day, stop and take a breather.

    * A tired, worn-out body is a hospitable home for pain.

    * Try pausing to stretch whenever you can as it keeps your muscles and ligaments strong and the joints supple. Staying sedentary is risky, and most age-related stiffness is the result of inactivity.

    * Exercise. Exercises will make not arthritis worse. Physical activity of the gentle, low-impact kind (e.g. swimming, walking, bicycling) actually helps ease and decrease chronic pain.

    * Watch your weight. For every pound you put on, about three to five pounds are added to your knees when you walk.  If you’re overweight, you put undue pressure on your joints and increase your chances of pain.

    * Balance yourself. When we change positions, we’re not just making ourselves comfortable, we are shifting the weight from one joint to another to re-balance the load.

    * Keep a positive frame of mind. Pessimism tends to feed pain and not dealing with negative emotions will make you less likely to respond to medication, treatment or exercise. Battles are first won in the mind.

    * Try cod liver oil. According to studies, the fatty acids found abundantly in the oil can switch off enzymes that break down cartilage (the smooth protective coating in our bodies that buffers the impact of bones grinding against each other whenever we move).

Fighting Aging Vision

Posted by youngaga On August - 25 - 2007Comments Off

Hello

Getting old may be inevitable, but losing your vision doesn’t have to be.

Presbyopia, or “aging vision,” as it is commonly referred to,

is the hardening of the lens and tightening of the eye muscles

associated with aging.

This condition occurs in nearly everyone at some point in their

lives, typically around the age of 40.

Aging vision causes the ciliary muscle, which is the muscle that is responsible for focusing, to become inflexible. It is therefore unable to change the shape of the lens by the amount required to focus on near-point objects.

At first you might find it hard to focus on the newspaper or on a menu at a restaurant.

Before you know it, your arms aren’t long enough to read anything.

Inevitably, off you go to get your first pair of reading glasses –

making your optician very happy as you have just become a lifelong customer!

However, there are very ways to combat aging vision.

If you suffer from presbyopia, you can visit rebuild vision for a helpful free information course.

As mentioned previously, science has proven that stiffening of the components of the eye is the cause of aging vision.

As a matter of fact, depending on your age, you possibly have more than a few muscles that don’t feel quite as limber as they used to!

What do you do when you have a tight hamstring or triceps? You stretch it out every day, and over time, it regains its flexibility and elasticity.

Well, your eyes are no different.

There are special optical exercises and vision-improvement

techniques that can help you regain the elasticity that your

eyes once had and the clear, natural vision that you remember

from years ago.

The Eyesight Thyroid Connection

Posted by youngaga On August - 23 - 2007Comments Off

Good Day and thanks for dropping by.

This article provides important information about the importance of the normal functioning of your thyroid and the resultant impact on your eyesight, among other things.

“Hypothyroidism, a treatable, but often undiagnosed condition,

may be related to the development of glaucoma,” said study

author Dr. Christopher A. Girkin, an associate professor of

ophthalmology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

The implications of his research become significant when

combined with the fact that Glaucoma is known to be a

leading cause of blindness and that 5% of the US population

has hypothyroidism.

Now that the connection between thyroid deficiency and

glaucoma has come to light, it is important to understand

the nature of hypothyroidism - a condition caused by an under-

active thyroid gland.

“Thyroid hormones are essential and primary regulators of the

body’s metabolism. Imbalances can affect virtually every metabolic

process in the body, exerting significant effects on mood an

energy level. Thyroid function has a profound impact on overall

health via its modulation of carbohydrate, protein, and fat

metabolism, vitamin utilization, mitochondrial function,

digestive process, muscle and nerve activity, blood flow, oxygen utilization, hormone secretion,

sexual and reproductive health,

and many other physiological parameters.”

It appears then that there is no part of the body that the thyroid

gland does not control - and the latest research, quoted above,

indicates that the eye is no exception - hypothyroidism can lead

to Glaucoma.

Those at risk for glaucoma are advised to have a dilated eye

examination at least once a year

The mainstay of Glaucoma treatment is to lower intraocular

pressure by use of pharmaceuticals or surgery. In Europe, Japan,

and Canada laser treatment is often the first line of therapy.

But, “…in the U.S., adoption of early laser has lagged, even

though prospective, multi-centered, peer-reviewed studies,

since the early ’90s, have shown laser to be at least as

effective as topical medications in controlling intraocular

pressure and preserving visual field..”

The therapeutic benefit of certain topically applied eye-drops,

has been proven to be remarkably effective.

L-Carnosine, a naturally occurring nutrient uncovered by cutting

edge research, specifically focuses on improving visual acuity

in the following problem areas:

1)Glaucoma

2)Cataracts/Clouding of the lens

3)Aging Vision(Presbyopia)

4)AMD - Macular degeneration

Computer Vision: Effective Tips to Save Your Eyesight

Posted by youngaga On August - 22 - 2007Comments Off

Hello there,

Everyone seems to spend a lot of time on the computer these days. This can cause eye-strain which can lead to vision problems.

Here are some tips from Orlin Sorensen, who has been instrumental in rebuilding eyesight for thousands of people.

We’ve all heard of carpal tunnel syndrome, perhaps the most severe computer-related injury, but few are aware of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), the most common. The American Optometric Association defines CVS as the “complex of eye and vision problems related to near work that are experienced during or related to computer use.” Symptoms of CVS are eyestrain, headaches, blurred vision, and neck or shoulder pain.

Fortunately, making some basic changes to your work station can significantly improve the symptoms of CVS. And since March is “Save Your Vision Month,” what could be more appropriate than taking a closer look at what you look at daily — your computer?

1) Monitor Madness

Repositioning your monitor is an easy and effective way to avoid awkward head or eye movements. It should be squarely in front of you at a distance of 18 to 28 inches, with the top of the monitor (not the screen) level with your eyes. You may also have to adjust the angle of your monitor to allow your eyes to remain in a natural position (straight ahead and slightly down). The ideal viewing angle is 10 to 20 degrees below your eye level. Remember, too, to place any copy you are working with at the same level as the screen; document holders that attach to the side of your monitor can be purchased at any office supply store.

2) Glare Care

Modifying your office lighting will eliminate glare and harsh reflections. First, find the source of the glare: is it coming from a window, task light, or the computer screen itself?

Adjust blinds or curtains to minimize sunlight. Turn down overhead lights so that the brightness of the screen and the surrounding room are balanced. Do not, however, work in the dark: the contrast between computer-generated light and lack of background light strains the eyes. Task lights should be positioned to provide direct light for reading and other office work but should not shine directly on the computer. Use a monitor glare screen or hood, change your monitor position, adjust your brightness/contrast controls, and use a larger text size, as display legibility is an important factor in visual performance. And get out those paper towels! A dusty, dirty screen can contribute to eye fatigue.

3) Take a Break

It’s easy to lose track of time at the computer. Take a break at least once an hour for about 10 minutes and blink frequently — video display use is associated with a decreased frequency of blinking. (And a computer break is a perfect excuse to perform your Rebuild Your Vision eye exercises.) Computer use can also cause an increased rate of tear evaporation. Relieve dry, itchy eyes with artificial tears from the drugstore or supermarket.

4) Special Needs

Seniors should take extra care arranging their work stations. The American Optometric Association notes that workers over 50 years of age require twice the light levels of young adults for comfortable work.

By the same token, very often small children share the same computer as their parents, a situation that can lead to injury, as monitor distance and position have been set up to accommodate the adults. Parents should also keep track of time spent at the computer — “parental control” applies as much to taking breaks as overseeing content!

Finally, be sure not to strain and squint to see your computer screen. This can lead to a multitude of problems including headaches, fatigue, dry-eyes, and prolonged vision problems.

As with any eye care issue, discuss computer-related vision problems with a qualified professional.

Well, we hope you found the article useful!

Cancer – Sugar – Sunshine

Posted by youngaga On August - 20 - 2007Comments Off

Welcome!

Here are some research findings on cancer and natural therapy that sparked our interest. We thought you should be aware of these facts to ensure your good health.

Part of the information was contributed by Shane Ellison, Ms.C.

Have you ever noticed that obesity, heart disease, and cancer seem to afflict several people in the same family? This causes one to blame Genetics.

Actually, health passed down through generations is the result of lifestyle habits. Good habits result in good health for future generations of your family. So, consider whether you need to make some lifestyle changes to experience equivalent changes in health - regardless of genetics.

To make a health transformation, you must capitalize on healthy habits.

Two dangerous habits that many people have are:

- Excessive sugar consumption and

- a continual lack of moderate sunshine.

Combined, these habits create an environment within your body that is conducive to cancer growth.

So, help to minimize your chances of getting cancer by sharply curtailing your consumption of sugar and by exposing your body to direct sunlight for at least 20 minutes daily.

You should also know that sunlight creates your body vitamin D in your body.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published one of the first studies to make headlines in national news outlets. The research showed that vitamin D can reduce cancer risk by as much as 77 percent.

And finally, speaking of sunshine and vitamin D, Rickets is caused by a deficiency in vitamin D.
Rickets is a disease characterized by softening and weakening of the bones, and typically afflicts infants and small children.

We hope you found this article useful.

Lie Detector - It’s in the Eyes

Posted by youngaga On August - 18 - 2007Comments Off

Good day!

We came across an interesting article by Paul Lawrence, which explains how one can get a lot of information from “eye language”.

This is fascinating stuff!

Based on your ability to communicate being  absolutely crucial, there are basic techniques you can use to become a better, more persuasive communicator - at work, in your personal relationships, and with your customers.

One of them is  knowing how to read nonverbal cues. Research suggests that when you’re communicating in person with someone, as much as 93 percent of that communication is nonverbal.

Body language is a big part of nonverbal communication, but the eyes may be even more revealing.

You can Become a Human Lie Detector!

The “Reid Technique of Police Interrogation” can help you figure out if you’re being lied to. The nine-step technique was developed by a police polygraph (lie detector) operator, John Reid, who observed his subjects’ behaviour while he was administering the polygraphs.

Although there is no 100 percent foolproof way to determine whether someone is telling the truth, the scientific basis for the technique is that when the brain is processing information, it sends signals to the body that are manifested in a physical way. One of these ways has to do with the eyes.

Reid discovered that when people are remembering something, their eyes often move to the right,  and that when they’re thinking (using the portion of the brain that deals with new images, sounds, and thoughts), their eyes often move to the left or upward. To use this behaviour, the interrogating detective first asks the subject some simple questions, to establish a pattern for his involuntary movements. Then he moves into the “real” questions regarding the crime.

If, for example, the detective asks the subject where he was on the night the crime was committed and the subject’s eyes move to the left,  that could indicate he’s trying to fabricate a story. On the other hand, if his eyes move to the right, he may simply be remembering (truthfully) where he was.

Try this the next time you want to see if someone is being truthful.

You can also, without saying a word, get someone to talk.

Assume that  you want to encourage someone to contribute more to a group conversation. Without drawing attention to the person, you can use the power of your eyes to get him to speak up.

Sciencedaily.com published a study in which subjects were told that they were participating in a three-way video-conference with other participants - and that they were to attempt to solve language puzzles as a group. The “other participants” were actors whose images were electronically transmitted to the subjects - and during the so-called video-conference, they made various degrees of eye contact with the subjects (looking at the camera intensely, looking away, and so on). What the researchers discovered was that people in group discussions will speak up more if they receive a greater amount of eye contact from other group members.

So, simply make eye contact with the person to encourage him/her to speak.

Effective communication is critical to success in any endeavour. Knowing how to use the eyes to gauge truthfulness and to encourage people to speak up are  just two powerful communication skills one should develop.

Two Tips for Seasonal Allergies

Posted by youngaga On August - 15 - 2007Comments Off

Hello there!

Sean finds these methods effectively overcome his seasonal allergies, and would like to share them with all.  Here they are:

“Simply adding two tablespoons of white clover honey to my

diet on a daily basis cured all of my seasonal allergies.

Much like a Doctor giving you a shot of the measles or

mumps so that your body can build up an immunity to the

toxins, digesting honey allowed my body’s immune system to

learn how to cope with various types of pollen in the

easiest and most natural method possible.

Added to my herbal tea in the morning, white clover honey

is both a sweet treat and a “sugar free” way to get my day

started.

I’ve also found that performing a basic sinus wash using a

warm saline solution can do wonders. This works best when

first getting up in the morning. As much as taking a hot

shower can help to clean and loosen your sinuses, applying

the warm saline solution directly into your sinus cavity

can help even more.

The warmth not only helps to break up and loosen

congestion, it also helps to flush out the passageways,

allowing one to breath easier.  The saline helps to

maintain your bodies natural pH, killing any foreign

subjects (mold, mildew, fungus ) that may be trying to take

root within your sinus cavity.

Using these two simple tricks has saved me tons of money

and drastically improved my quality of life.  Feel free to

these tips in your newsletter and I hope they can help

other people.”

We hope they work for you if you suffer from seasonal allergies.

Muscle-Pain Relieving Cream can be Fatal

Posted by youngaga On August - 14 - 2007Comments Off

Hello.

This could be very important to your health, or to that of a family member. Please read it through.

Dr. Ben Kim published an important article about the danger that over-the-counter muscle pain relieving creams can pose to some.

Here are the main points that you should know:

On June 10th, 2007, the New York Times published a story about a high school track star who died after overusing an over-the-counter cream that is commonly used to treat sore muscles and joints. The official cause of death was determined by a New York City medical examiner after a two-month investigation.

The athlete died after her body absorbed toxic levels of methyl salicylate, a compound that is found in sports creams like Icy Hot and Bengay.

Methyl salicylate, also known as oil of wintergreen, is a natural substance that is produced by many species of plants. Today, commercial methyl salicylate is synthesized rather than produced through distillation of the natural compound from real plants. Methyl Salicylate is included in sports creams for its ability to open up blood capillaries and increase blood circulation.

There is no dispute over the fact that methyl salicylate is toxic to the human body. Exposure to as little as 4 mL can cause death in small children.

Please be aware that anything that you put on your skin can enter your bloodstream. This is especially true for substances that are applied around large pores, like your mouth and eyes. Heat and intense exercise can increase absorption rates, so you should take care not to apply creams with toxic ingredients on your skin before a workout or before you know you have to be out in hot weather for a prolonged period of time.

Dr Kim’s experience has been that some practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine recommend using rubbing alcohol as a base through which their patients can apply various herbs to their skin; the alcohol is used to facilitate absorption of herbs into the skin and bloodstream. My opinion is that this is a dangerous practice, one that can quite easily lead to alcohol poisoning if the patient is not acutely aware of the potential dangers of applying rubbing alcohol to skin around large pores.

Bottom line: Unless deemed absolutely necessary to your well-being, do not apply products with methyl salicylate or other components that are made with alcohol to your skin, especially around your mouth, nose, eyes, anus, and reproductive organs.

Thank you, Dr Kim.

You Could Be Reading Without Your Glasses Soon

Posted by youngaga On August - 13 - 2007Comments Off

Hello there.

Today, you may be relying on your reading glasses… driving glasses… contact lenses or even bifocals. But in a few short weeks, you could be seeing more clearly without your glasses or contact lenses - without surgery or strenuous eye exercises.

And the only thing standing between you and naturally sharper  vision is your reliance on your contact lenses or your glasses.

Even though they’re called ‘corrective lenses,’ they don’t correct your vision. They only aid your vision temporarily, and they do not prevent  your vision from deteriorating  over time.

Poor vision is a common health problem and, if you’re like millions of people today, you probably believe there’s nothing you can do to rebuild your eyesight. That’s not true!  Because you already possess the power to enjoy clearer, stronger, unaided vision. And you can take a step to tap into that power immediately.

Learn more about a simple but extremely effective program at Rebuild Eyesight, and read the many testimonials from happy purchasers.

Even if you’ve been wearing glasses all your life, this amazing program can restore your natural ability to

    * Read, write, and drive normally

    * See brighter colors, experience clarity, contrast, and greater depth perception

    * Get relief from headaches and fatigue due to eyestrain

Research estimates that 97 percent of those who wear glasses were not born with vision problems. If you’re among that 97 percent, you can rebuild your vision to see more clearly. And even if you’re among the 3 percent born with vision problems, you can still benefit from major improvements in just a few weeks.

A very common myth about eyesight is that the sharpness of your vision is determined only by the shape of the eye and that, if your eyes are the appropriate shape, you’ll have good vision. And if they’re misshapen or distorted, you’ll suffer vision problems.

But research suggests that the governing factor to your ability to see clearly is not the shape of your eye, nor is it the strength of your eye muscles. The key to your ability to focus and see objects at all distances clearly is the flexibility of the muscles around your eye  lens.

You need to relieve tension and rigidity in and around your eye muscles. These include the lens, the muscles and ligaments that surround the eye, and the muscles that squeeze and move the eye.

The  Rebuild Eyesight program will show you how to release years of accumulated tension and rigidity.

Refractive eye surgery may seem like the quick answer to your eye troubles. But at a cost of thousands of dollars, and with possible complications ranging from itching and dryness, to improper correction of your eyesight, to permanent glaucoma, it may be an unnecessary risk.

Instead, you can try this safe non-intrusive yet effective program  at Rebuild Eyesight at absolutely no risk.

No risk means that, if for any reason at all you’re not satisfied, simply return the program for a full refund.

After starting the program, you should be able to see more clearly and with less effort. Your eyes should naturally stay relaxed and more open. You should get relief from headaches, tension, and fatigue related to strained vision. And, you should be able to see colors more brightly than ever before. You should see objects, at any distance, with greater clarity. Once-blurred traffic signs or book print will sharpen into focus.

If not, you will get a full refund. It’s that simple. The program comes with a ONE FULL YEAR GUARANTEE, and also includes some valuable bonuses, including an immediate download while you await the arrival of the package.

Take this step to rebuild your vision. When you start reversing your eye age today, you can help prevent future, more serious vision problems from developing.  Order  Rebuild Eyesight at absolutely no risk and you can start bringing your world into focus right away!

Remember, up to 90 percent of the information you gather comes to you through your eyes. It’s your primary link to the world around you!

To your good health,

Roshmi and Jay

Heart Attack Part 5 – Preventive Measures

Posted by youngaga On August - 11 - 2007Comments Off

Hi there!

Rosalyn Carson-DeWitt, MD wrote a very informative article on one of the major causes of death in our society today – heart disease.

This is imperative information that could help you, or a family member, so please take the time to read it. It has been partitioned into 5 parts for your reading convenience. Here is what she said in her article.

Preventing or treating coronary artery disease may help prevent a heart attack.

* Maintain a healthy weight .

* Begin a safe exercise program with the advice of your doctor.

* If you smoke, quit .

* Eat a healthful diet , one that is low in saturated fat and rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

* Appropriately treat high blood pressure and/or diabetes .

* Manage stress .

* Ask your doctor about taking a small, daily dose of aspirin. It has been shown to decrease the risk of heart attack.

* Ask your doctor about taking cholesterol-lowering medications.

* Ask your doctor about taking medication to improve heart function or prevent future heart attacks, such as:

o Beta-blockers

o ACE-inhibitors

o Blood thinning medications

Please remember than when you are taking aspirin, certain painkillers (eg, ibuprofen), if taken together with aspirin, may put you at high risk for gastrointestinal bleeding and also diminish the effectiveness of aspirin.

This was the 5th and final part of the Heart Attack series.

Posted by youngaga On August - 10 - 2007Comments Off

Hello and welcome back!

Treatment may include:

    * Oxygen

    * Pain-killing medications (such as morphine)

    * Nitrate medications

    * Antiplatelet agents

    * Beta-blockers

    * Aspirin

    * Beta-blocking and/or ACE inhibitor medications

    * Anti-anxiety medications

    * Clot-busting agents: Within the first six hours after a heart attack, you may be given medications to break up blood clots in the coronary arteries.

    * Other medicines that may be given along with clot-busting agents (called platelet IIb/IIIa receptor blockers)

    * Cholesterol-lowering medications

    * Anti-anxiety medications

    * ACE inhibitors are also frequently given

There are many different medications that may be given in a combination dependent on a patient’s specific situation. Your doctors will determine which ones are the best for you

Surgery

Surgeries for people with severe blockages in their coronary arteries may include:

    * Coronary artery bypass surgery

    * Atherectomy

    * Balloon angioplasty with or without stenting

Physical or Rehabilitative Therapy

During recovery from a heart attack, you may need physical or rehabilitative therapy to help you regain your strength.

Psychotherapy or Antidepressant Medication

Some people have depression after suffering a heart attack. If you do, psychotherapy and/or antidepressant medications may help relieve depression.

Heart Attack - Part 3 – Diagnosis and Tests

Posted by youngaga On August - 9 - 2007Comments Off

Welcome back.

Diagnosis and Tests

Diagnosis

If you think you are having a heart attack, call 911 immediately. You need emergency medical care.

Tests may include:

Blood Tests – to look for certain enzymes found in the blood within hours or days after a heart attack. Blood tests will be repeated every 6-8 hours to track the enzymes’ progressive elevation that indicates heart muscle damage.

Urine Tests – to look for certain substances found in the urine within hours or days after a heart attack

Electrocardiogram (EKG) – records the heart’s activity by measuring electrical currents through the heart muscle. Certain abnormalities in the EKG occur when there is significant blockage of the coronary arteries and/or damage to the heart muscle. The EKG will be repeated to track the progression of these changes.

Echocardiogram – uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to examine the size, shape, function, and motion of the heart

Stress Test – records the heart’s electrical activity under increased physical demand. A stress test can also be combined with an echocardiography. Patients who cannot exercise may be given a medication intravenously that simulates the effects of physical exertion. A stress test is done usually days or weeks after the heart attack.

Nuclear Scanning – Radioactive material (such as thalium) is injected into a vein and observed as it is absorbed by the heart muscle. Areas with diminished flow, and therefore uptake of the radioactive material, show up as dark spots on the scan.

Electron-beam CT scan (coronary calcium scan, heart scan, CT angiography ) – a type of x-ray that uses a computer to make detailed pictures of the heart, coronary arteries, and surrounding structures. This type of CT scan measures the amount of calcium deposits in the coronary arteries, and based on that and other health information, attempts to determines the risk of heart disease, including heart attacks. The American Heart Association (AHA) published guidelines in 2006 indicating that heart scans are not for everyone and those most likely to benefit from the procedure are patients at intermediate risk of coronary artery disease.

Coronary Angiography – X-rays are taken after a dye is injected into the arteries to look for abnormalities (narrowing, blockage) in the coronary arteries.
